Large Number Of COVID-19 Survivors Will Experience Cognitive Complications
A large number of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) survivors—between 13% and 50%—will experience cognitive and neuropsychiatric complications. These complications include impaired attention and memory, as well as post-traumatic stress disorder and depression.
Following COVID-19, about 45% of health care consumers experienced short-term impaired attention, and between 13% and 28% experienced short-term memory problems. About 44% experienced long-term fatigue and impaired attention. Between 28% and 50% experienced long-term memory problems. About 95% had symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder.
