16% Of I/DD Support Provider Organizations Report Program Closures During Pandemic Likely Permanent
About 16% of organizations that provide support services for people with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD) said in a July 2020 survey that programs they closed in response to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic would likely remain closed permanently. About 77% of the survey respondents said they discontinued at least one service due to the pandemic. In an earlier survey in April 2020 about 68% of provider organizations reported discontinuing one or more service lines, resulting in revenue losses averaging 32%.
