Health Care Worker COVID-19 Mortality Similar To General Population
Mortality rates among health care workers hospitalized with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) were similar to mortality rates among people in the general population who were hospitalized with COVID-19. The odds of death were about 0.60 for both groups. The odds of needing a mechanical ventilator were also 0.60 for both groups. The odds that a health care worker would require admission to an intensive care unit were 0.56. The odds were 0.53 that health care workers would require an admission of 7 days or longer.
