To reopen adult day service centers (ADSCs) and reduce the risk of spreading of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommended that ADSCs modify their physical layouts and activities to allow for physical distancing, encourage mask wearing, and hand washing. These centers provide a community-based group setting for adults with dementia, cognitive decline, or physical disability. Most participants are age 65 and older. ADSCs provide the participants with individualized therapeutic, social, or health services.
