North Dakota Selects Blue Cross Blue Shield For Medicaid Expansion Managed Care Contract
On June 7, 2021, the North Dakota Department of Human Services (DHS), Medical Services Division announced it intended to award the state’s Medicaid expansion managed care contract to Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota (BCBSND). The new contract term is slated to start on January 1, 2022. The initial term runs for three years through December 31, 2025, and may be followed by two one-year renewals. The incumbent, Sanford Health Plan, currently serves approximately 26,000 expansion members.
