Three Strategies To “Preferred”
If your strategy for the next normal includes working with health plans or other payers, the big decision is what kind of relationship to shoot for. There are two options. The first is âbusiness as usualââbe a contracted network provider of low-cost traditional services, typically paid on a fee-for-service basis. The other option is to develop a âpreferredâ relationship with health plans (or other key payers) that bring better reimbursement, value-based reimbursement, and/or new revenue streams.
