North Carolina Launches New Plan To Advance Employment For Individuals With I/DD
On January 20, 2022, the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS) announced the start of the five-year “Promoting and Expanding Competitive Integrated Employment for Individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Strategic Plan” (CIE I/DD Plan) to advance employment for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). The goal of the plan is to help people with I/DD gain access to jobs in the community that pay above minimum wage and offer access to the same benefits as others in the workplace.
