Delaware County, Pennsylvania Takes Over Operations At George W. Hill Correctional Facility

On April 6, 2022, the George W. Hill Correctional Facility will transition from privatized operations to management by Delaware County, Pennsylvania. The county is ending its contract with the GEO Group, Inc. Since October 6, 2021, the county has been working with GCL and Alta Management to identify and develop management systems, capital improvements, transportation, personnel, reentry, medical services, certification, and financial controls. The county selected Wellpath to provide prison medical services under a three-year contract valued at $29.9 million.
