I just finished reading the new report, “Clinician of the Future,” the result of a work life survey of thousands of physicians and nurses. The survey found that 71% of physicians and 68% of nurses believe their jobs have changed considerably in the past 10 years—with many saying their jobs are worse. Amid the many takeaways, I was left with two key themes. Clinical professionals are concerned with how digital health care is changing their relationship with consumers—and how to find a fulfilling work life in a health care sector with more data and more technology.
