Provider organizations offering telehealth face some bumps in the road whenever the national public health emergency (PHE) ends (current ending date July 15, 2021 and, in my opinion, more likely January of 2023). Even with the extension of the PHE, state governments are rolling back the regulatory flexibilities enacted during the pandemic—particularly around telehealth. As of April 18, 2022, 37 states and Washington, D.C., ended their emergency declarations.
