Don’t Be Surprised By The “No Surprises Act”
Over the past month, the "No Surprises Act" (NSA) has been getting lots of ink—not all of it expected. The NSA was passed on December 27, 2020, and went into effect January 1, 2022 (see Detailed Summary Of No Surprises Act). There is no more balance billing allowed for out-of-network emergency services, non-emergency services or ambulance services.
