Certified community behavioral health center programs (CCBHCs);are mandated to provide some crisis services—including providing mobile crisis response within one hour (2 hours in rural/frontier areas) to individuals in the service area. This is a critical capacity function because, as of 2022, only 20% of mental health treatment facilities offer off-site crisis services, resulting in 60% of all U.S. counties without these services.
