Move Over Nerds
For decades, technology in most organizations was the province of “nerds”. In case you’re not aware, Dr. Seuss coined that term in 1950 in his book, If I Ran the Zoo. The book's narrator lists various imaginary creatures that he would keep in the zoo if he were allowed to run it: "And then, just to show them, I'll sail to Ka-Troo And Bring Back an It-Kutch a Preep and a Proo A Nerkle a Nerd and a Seersucker, too!" The common perception of a nerd became someone exceptionally skilled with, knowledgeable of, and enthusiastic . . .
