July is Black, Indigenous, and other people of color (BIPOC) Mental Health Month. It is defined a month to raise awareness about the distinctive mental health issues faced by historically marginalized racial and ethnic groups in the United States (see BIPOC Mental Health). The designation was started in 1949 by Mental Health America as the “Bebe More Campbell National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month” (see About Bebe Moore Campbell National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month).;
