Health care mergers and acquisitions (M&A) in 2021 grew 56+ percent over 2020, with more than 400 transactions—compared to 200 to 250 deals per year between 2017 and 2019. The growth areas included primary care/physician groups (over 400 transactions), managed care, and rehabilitation (see Health Services: Deals 2022 Outlook).
