Two recent reports presented slightly different views of investor activity in the autism market. One analysis found that autism and intellectual and developmental disability (I/DD) services continued to be a sought-after investment sector in 2020, with 34 mergers and acquisitions (M&A)—on par with 2019 with 35 deals and topping 2018, which saw 25 deals. Despite the pandemic, the value of the transactions in 2020 was higher than the two prior years (see Behavioral Health M&A Report: Q4 2020).
