California is prioritizing vaccine access for “informal caregivers”—defined as unpaid family members or others who regularly help in and supervise the daily care of a disabled person. The informal caregivers need to bring a note from the physician of the person being cared for to qualify for the vaccine. The pandemic has been hard on unpaid caregivers.
