Accountable care organization (ACO) Baylor Scott & White Quality Alliance (BSWQA) has recently joined forces with Cigna Corp. BSWQA has been adding health plans to its ranks and Cigna is the third.

According to Blake Allison, chief operating officer at BSQWA, the ideal strategy for the ACO is to partner with all of the health plans that cover the ACO physicians’ consumers to improve quality and care outcomes.
