July 16, 2007 Indiana Division of Mental Health Launches CANS New Childrens Assessment System On July 1, 2007, the Indiana Division of Mental Health and Addiction (DMHA) launched the Children and Adolescent Needs and Strengths (CANS) assessment system for use by all Indiana behavioral health providers who contract with DMHA.
