2% Of Post-Acute Provider Organizations Using EHR Data For Care Coordination
During 2019, only 2% of acute care and long-term post-acute care provider organizations were using information technology (IT)-only strategies, such as an electronic health record (EHR) to coordinate care and transfer consumer data. About 36% of acute care provider organizations use manual-only strategies, such as telephone calls, to transfer consumer information to a long-term post-acute care provider organization. Approximately 62% of post-acute care facilities rely on phone calls between case workers to transfer consumer information and other clinical details.
