27% Of Families Of Adults With Autism Living At Home Need More Services
About 27% of families of an adult with autism living at home need more supports and services. Half identified respite services as a key need. About 40% said they needed more information about public services and about 30% said the information they were given about services and supports was hard to understand.
About 22% of families with an adult with autism living at home reported having income of $25,000 or less, and 37% received payment for the care they provided. About 70% of these families managed the staff who provided support for the adult in their home.
