55% Of Older Adults In The U.S. Have Experienced Disruptions In Care Due To Coronavirus
About 55% of adults in the United States age 70 and older have experienced a disruption in their medical care during the first month of social distancing due to coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), according to a nationwide survey. About 39% canceled or delayed non-essential medical treatment, and 32% canceled or delayed primary or preventive care. About 15% reported delaying or canceling an essential medical treatment.
