Across U.S., 54% Of Counties Have No Board Certified Behavior Analysts
Across the U.S., 53.6% of counties have no board certified behavior analysts (BCBAs) for children with autism. Of these 1,667 counties, 10.4% had no BCBA and neighbored only counties with no BCBA(s).
In the 129 U.S. counties with the highest autism prevalence (defined as at least 12.5 children with autism per 1,000 school-aged children) about 42.6% (55 counties) had no BCBA. About 7% (9 counties) of these high prevalence counties had no BCBA in the county and none in neighboring counties.
