American Rescue Plan COVID-19 Stimulus Bill Boosts Subsidies For Health Insurance Marketplace Plans
On April 1, 2021, provisions of the American Rescue Plan, which was signed into law on March 11, 2021, will go into effect to make changes to the federal Health Insurance Marketplace to increase access and eligibility for financial assistance. Consumers in non-Medicaid expansion states with incomes of $12,880, 100% of the federal poverty level (FPL), and those earning more than 400% FPL ($51,520) who would pay more than 8.5% of income on premiums for individual or family coverage are eligible for the new subsidies.
