About 56% of assisted living provider organizations predicted in December 2020 they were at risk of closing in 2021 because they cannot sustain their current operating pace due to increased staffing and equipment costs of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). About 6% said they could only keep operating for three months or less. About 28% said they had resources to cover operations for four to six months. About 22% said they had resources to continue for 12 months. About 44% said they could continue operating at their current pace for more than 12 months.
