Class Action Lawsuit Alleges California Schools Fail To Provide ‘Equal Learning Time’
A recent class action complaint filed in Alameda Superior Court alleges that students at seven public schools in California receive "far less meaningful learning time than their peers in most California schools," and that this loss of learning time results in a substantively inferior education for these students. The suit, Cruz et al. v. State of California, was filed on May 29, 2014 by the ACLU Foundation of Southern California (ACLU SoCal), Public Counsel and Gary Blasi, Professor Emeritus of the University of California, Los Angeles School of Law. The suit is also supported by the law firms Carlton Fields . . .
