CMS Revises State Medicaid Requirements For Additional Funds Under Coronavirus Relief Act
On November 2, 2020, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) posted an interim final rule that makes changes to state requirements for maintaining Medicaid beneficiary enrollment to receive the temporary increase in federal funding in the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA). The changes affect eligible populations and eligibility redeterminations. Comments are due on January 4, 2021.
The temporary increases under FFCRA increased the Federal Medical Assistance Percentage (FMAP) by 6.2 percentage points to cover testing services and treatments for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). Services covered include vaccines and the administration of such vaccines for Medicaid . . .
