Colorado Governor Jared Polis is establishing a new Behavioral Health Administration (BHA). On January 4, 2022, Governor Polis appointed Morgan Medlock, M.D., MPH, MDiv as the state’s first cabinet-level behavioral health commissioner. Starting January 18, 2022, Dr. Medlock will lead development of the BHA so that it is established by July 1, 2022, and is fully formed by 2024.

The goal of the BHA is to create a shared vision and strategy for all state agencies, partners, and provider organizations. The BHA will accomplish this through formal interagency agreements with other state agencies to reach priority populations . . .
