During Oregon’s Early Implementation Of Drug Decriminalization & Treatment, More Than 60,000 People Received Addiction Treatment
During 2021 through September 30, 2022, while Oregon was implementing legislation to decriminalize drug possession and refer people cited for possession to low-barrier addiction treatment, more than 60,000 people were treated. From July 1 to September 30, 2022, after the state started approving county-based Behavioral Health Resource Networks (BHRNs) for funding to scale up to provide a continuum of addiction treatment services, more than 18,000 people were served.
