Employers Can Require COVID-19 Vaccinations
On December 16, 2020, the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) issued guidance indicating that employers can require workers to be vaccinated to prevent coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). The law permits employers to mandate that employees be vaccinated before returning to work. However, the law permits exemptions, and requires employers to make reasonable accommodation for employees who have a sincerely held religious belief against vaccinations, or employees who have a disability or medical condition that contraindicates the vaccine.
