Feds Approve Montana’s Plans To Implement The Family First Prevention Services Act To Help Families Avoid Involvement In Child Welfare System
On February 2, 2022, the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) announced that the federal Children’s Bureau approved its Family First Prevention Plan. Through the plan, the DPHHS Child and Family Services Division (CFSD) will be able to use federal Title IV-E funds for time-limited prevention services for mental health treatment, addiction treatment, and in-home parenting skill training to help at-risk families or kin caregivers avoid involvement with the child welfare system.
