On July 1, 2021, the minimum wage for eligible state employees, including direct support professionals (DSP) working for state institutions that serve people with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD), rose to $13 per hour. The pay increase for DSPs working in state institutions is directed in “Florida Senate Bill 2500: State Budget”, as signed into law by Governor Ron DeSantis on June 2, 2021.
