On August 11, 2021, New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy signed legislation, Senate Bill (SB) 2924, to create a pilot two-year juvenile reentry program that will be tested by the cities of Camden, Newark, Paterson, and Trenton. Each city will receive an equal share of the $4.2 million funding per year for the pilot to create support service hubs and contract with provider organizations to offer youth in reentry mentoring, addiction treatment, and employment assistance.
