Four New Jersey Cities Funded To Create New Juvenile Offender Reentry Program Pilot
On August 11, 2021, New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy signed legislation, Senate Bill (SB) 2924, to create a pilot two-year juvenile reentry program that will be tested by the cities of Camden, Newark, Paterson, and Trenton. Each city will receive an equal share of the $4.2 million funding per year for the pilot to create support service hubs and contract with provider organizations to offer youth in reentry mentoring, addiction treatment, and employment assistance. Each county’s Juvenile Justice Commission will review the applications from their city.
