On November 1, 2019, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) finalized hospital price transparency rules and proposed that insurers share network prices. The final rule establishes requirements for hospitals operating in the U.S. to establish, update, and make public a list of their standard charges for the items and services that they provide, effective January 1, 2021.
