HIV-Related Deaths Drop 48% From 2010 To 2017 In The United States
The age-adjusted rate of deaths related to the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) per 1,000 persons with diagnosed HIV (PWDH) decreased 48.4% from 2010 to 2017 in the United States. During the same period, the non-HIV related death rate dropped by 8.6%. The rate of HIV-related deaths decreased from 9.1 per 1,000 PWDH in 2010 to 4.7 deaths per 1,000 PWDH in 2017. During this same time, the rate of non-HIV related deaths decreased from 9.3 per 1,000 PWDH in 2010 to 8.5 per 1,000 PWDH . . .
