Between 1988 and 2015, the incidence of dementia declined by 13% per decade, according to data from France, Iceland, the Netherlands, Sweden, the United Kingdom, and the United States. The data pertained to 49,202 individuals who did not have dementia at the start of data collection. Over the period, 8.6% (4,253 individuals) developed dementia. Dementia incidence declined by 24% among men and by 8% among women.
