Lake County, Illinois Sheriff Introduces New ‘Community Bridge’ Reentry Program
The sheriff in Lake County, Illinois launched a new reentry and recidivism reduction program called “Community Bridge” for people newly released from the Lake County Jail. The program provides participants with 30 days of continued services immediately after release back to the community. During this period, the inmate and the reentry specialist have in-depth, goal-driven conversations focusing on employment, résumé building, connection with Alternative Housing Services, tips for successful reentry, and enrollment in health insurance programs.
