Maryland Corrections Awards $680 Million, Five-Year Prison Medical Contract To Corizon Health
On December 19, 2018, the Maryland Board of Public Works approved a five-year contract valued at $680 million, between the Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services (DPSCS) and Corizon Health, Inc. to provide statewide prison medical care and utilization management. The incumbent was Wexford Health Services, Inc. Corizon will be responsible for services and utilization management for about 20,000 inmates. The contract began on December 19, 2018 and runs through December 31, 2023.
