Massachusetts Expanding Access To ‘Housing First’ Housing & Support Services
The Massachusetts Department of Public Health (MDPH), Bureau of Substance Addiction Services (BSAS) is expanding its “Housing First” program from 60 beds to 135 beds. For the expansion, MDPH released a request for responses (RFR BD-21-1031-ADMIN-ADM07-62215) seeking a contractor to provide low-threshold housing and stabilization services for about 75 unaccompanied adults who are experiencing homelessness, addiction disorder, and who are diagnosed with or at-risk for acquiring HIV. Proposals are due by June 14, 2021. The housing is needed in the following areas: Northeast/Merrimack Valley, Central Massachusetts (Worcester), and Western Massachusetts (Springfield).
