Michigan Seeks Foster Care Respite Services
The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) is creating regionalized foster care respite programs. Services are targeted to foster caregivers and relative caregivers of youth in the foster care or juvenile justice system in an out-of-home placement, and to families who qualify for post-adoption services. Eligibility also includes children who qualify for respite through a medical subsidy post-adoption or guardianship placement, and children receiving services through a local community mental health center for serious emotional disturbance.
