Majority Of Colorado Medicaid Opioid Treatment Services Did Not Meet Federal/State Requirements
About 79% of opioid treatment program (OTP) services for Colorado Medicaid beneficiaries from October 1, 2016, through September 30, 2018, did not meet state or federal requirements. During this period, 20 Colorado OTPs submitted claims to the state’s Medicaid managed care organizations (MCOs) for almost 1.5 million OTP services. The MCOs paid nearly $22.2 million.
