Nebraska Requests Corrective Action Plans From Child Welfare Contractor Saint Francis Ministries To Address Performance Problems
The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) asked Saint Francis Ministries, which manages child welfare and foster care services in the Eastern Service Area (ESA) to submit corrective action plans to address workforce issues linked to poor performance on several contract performance goals. According to a state monitoring report released on February 19, 2021, for the fourth contract quarter, the problems included high caseloads, high employee turnover rates, and failure to complete background and immigration record checks for all new employees.
