New Mexico Developmental Disabilities Planning Council Launches Program To Promote Competitive Employment
In October 2021, the New Mexico Developmental Disabilities Planning Council (DDPC) launched an employment program to help working age adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD) find competitive employment. For the program, the DDPC works with state agencies that have open entry-level or administrative support positions, and then will help identify qualified candidates with developmental disabilities. The DDPC also seeks to encourage private sector employers to hire more candidates with I/DD. Additionally, the DDPC will provide job training, and will help the individuals complete the job application.
