On March 16, 2021, Utah Governor Spencer Cox signed legislation, House Bill 113 (HB113) to amend the Utah Child Support Act to include provisions that require a biological father to pay for half of prenatal costs that are not paid by another person. The father’s responsibility extends to insurance premiums, pregnancy-related medical costs, and the hospital birth of the child.
