On December 17, 2019, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio announced his administration's six-point Action Plan to end long-term street homelessness over the next five years. Long-term street homelessness refers to individuals who have been experiencing unsheltered homelessness for long periods of time rather than brief, limited episodes.
