North Carolina Draft Olmstead Plan Promotes Diverting People From Institutions By Expanding Community Living Services
On October 12, 2021, the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS) released a draft version of the state’s first Olmstead Plan that promotes diverting people from institutions by expanding community living services. Specifically, the plan will guide how the state will promote serving individuals with disabilities in the least restrictive appropriate setting. It intends to finalize the plan by the end of 2021.
