Ohio Legislation To Update Calculations For Child Support Obligations
The Ohio legislature is considering a bill to update how the state calculates child support obligations. Senate Bill 125 calls for revising the economic data used to calculate a non-custodial parent’s obligation, and takes into account shared parenting arrangements, and provision of health insurance. The changes are due in part to changes to federal rules issued in late December 2016 intended to strengthen child support enforcement programs and increase state and employer flexibility to better serve families.
