Ohio Medicaid Selects Gainwell Technologies For Single Pharmacy Benefit Manager Contract

On January 11, 2021, the Ohio Department of Medicaid (ODM) announced it had selected Gainwell Technologies as the state’s single pharmacy benefit manager (PBM). This is a new approach for the state. Currently, the six Medicaid managed care organizations (MCOs) each contract with one or more PBMs. Gainwell Technologies will manage the state’s $4 billion Medicaid pharmacy program.
