Oklahoma DHS Offers Hiring Incentives To Attract Child Welfare Workers
On January 11, 2022, the Oklahoma Human Services (OKDHS) announced a series of child welfare worker recruitment and retention incentives intended to attract former child welfare specialists to return. The goal is to bring back seasoned, well-trained employees, and to reduce the cost of hiring a new employee. The total value of incentives is $7,000 per recruited employee, which is about 10% of the cost to hire and train a new child welfare specialist.
