Oklahoma To Launch Dyslexia Risk Screening For Early Elementary Students With Below Grade-Level Reading Skills
On June 24, 2021, the Oklahoma State Board of Education voted to approve assessment provider organizations in preparation for a new universal dyslexia risk factor screening for early elementary students. Starting in the 2022-23 school year, every kindergarten through third grade student who is reading below grade level will be screened for dyslexia risk factors. During the 2021-22 school year, school districts to determine which dyslexia risk screening assessment they want to use. School Districts will have a choice of seven possible screening assessment organizations:
